Goa to Get Rs 2,000 crore for Highway Projects
In an attempt to make commute better in Goa, the construction of the NH 4A is going to start soon on full swing. To facilitate the same, an additional funding of INR 2,000 crore has been granted to the state by the central units, as told by an official concerned with this. The Ministry of road transport and highways is also awaiting the approval on extending to the Morlem to Bondla (Curti) junction stretch.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, along with PWD minister Ramkrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar, met Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari in Delhi to have discussions on all the presently ongoing highway construction projects in Goa. Assistance is being seeked on the difficulties being faced about these projects.
The meeting about the construction obstacles for national highways was also attended by Union secretary highways, Union additional secretary highways and chief secretary of Goa along with other officials concerned with the projects.
